Creating Batch Tests
Using Microscope on a Stick
Here is a step by
step procedure for creating an Auto MS Batch Test:
1. Load MicroScope
from the USB JumpDrive.
2. Select Batch
from the Menu and select the suite of tests that you want
to run.
Save the test selections to a file ex. C:testsel.slt.
Choose Save Batch to write
the file into the USB JumpDrive. The default drive letter
will be “C” (note that this will not be the hard
drive)
3. Restart and
boot to the MS on Stick. At the boot selection, press Ctrl-C
and press Y to terminate the batch file. The prompt will become
C:
4. At the C
prompt, type this command line: c:\>ms.exe /a /testsel.slt.
Where testsel is the name given to the file
which contains the test settings, remember to use a maximum
of 8 characters only.
The ms.exe is to invoke
the MicroScope program. The '/a' informs
MS that it is to do run automatically and the '/testsel.slt'
is the file that was saved from the batch menu.
5. The MicroScope
program will start and will load the selected batch test.
Press enter when File Operation
Completed prompt appear.
6. The batch
test will run and should create a report file after the test.
The file extension of the report should be
.RPT and you can open it using a notepad. If you don’t
want the report to be saved you may remove the USB JumpDrive
from the machine and place it on another machine that you
want to run the batch on.
Note: The
system will only halt when it finds a critical error.

"In
the service business, time is money. The Micro2000 Universal
Diagnostic Toolkit is worth its weight in gold for any service
company. The cost of the product is quickly recovered because
of faster turn around time when fixing problem systems. The
product also helps control business costs simply because technicians
are more accurately diagnosing what parts they require for
system repairs." Compunotes
